Aegean Airlines took delivery of its first ever Airbus A320neo. This was the first in a series of 46 orders for the new generation narrow body. Commercial flights on the newly acquired aircraft will start on February 2020. The buffer period will be used to train staff on the A320neo series. The order of 46 A320neo’s is set to be completed by 2024.
The Greek flag carrier currently has a fleet of around 50 aircraft and it is looking to expand its network. The A320’s will be used to increase frequency on present destinations as well as introducing new destinations mostly to northern and eastern Europe and Russia.
